Aimee Smidt, M.D., FAAD Aimee Smidt, MD, FAAD, FAAP

Chair, Department of Dermatology; Associate Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics

Dr. Smidt is originally from New England, and obtained her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY. She completed Pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, followed by Dermatology residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Northwestern University-Children’s Memorial Hospital. She generally sees patients aged 0-21 with a broad range of skin disorders and performs laser procedures for patients of all ages. Her main clinical interests include birthmarks, laser surgery, and skin disease in adolescents. Her personal interests include fitness, the outdoors, Southwestern art and jewelry, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Hill obtained her MD in 2006 from University of Colorado School of Medicine located in Denver, Colorado. She completed her Internal medicine preliminary year at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO in 2007 and attended the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA to complete her dermatology residency in 2010. Dr. Hill has experience in Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology including Skin of Color and Pediatric dermatology.

Daniel L. Stulberg Daniel L. Stulberg

Professor,  Department of Family & Community Medicine and Dermatology

Dr. Stulberg completed his MD in 1987 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Michigan.  He also finished his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Michigan in 1990 and continued working in Family Medicine in Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. He attended the Colorado Department of Family Medicine and Community Medicine from 2004 to 2007 and also the University of New Mexico Department of Family and Community Medicine from 2007 to now as an Associate Professor. Dr. Stulberg has taken an added interest in skin care in which he has coordinated a series of articles on skin care, written textbook chapters on skin conditions and procedures and produced academic material for dermatology.

Dr. Deeptej Singh is a board-certified dermatologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 2008 and completed his dermatology training from SUNY-Downstate Health Sciences Center, Brooklyn, NY in 2012. He practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology at the University of New Mexico, where he is Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology.

Humaa Ahmed, PA-C, MPH

Humaa is originally from Saint Louis and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, followed by a Master in Public Health in Epidemiology at Saint Louis University. She then obtained her Master in Medical Science from Saint Louis University in December 2015. She started her career in Allergy and Immunology and then pursued her passion in dermatology at UNMH. Humaa is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Her interests include fitness, traveling, shopping, cooking/baking, and spending time with her husband.

Katy Wiltz, M.D.

Dr. Wiltz obtained her M.D. in 2006 from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her dermatology residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in 2010, serving as chief resident her final year. Dr. Wiltz has experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Wiltz also currently teaches LSU dermatology residents at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.  Dr. Wiltz lives in New Orleans with her husband and their young daughter.  In her free time, Dr. Wiltz enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and learning to play tennis.

Dr. Luchetti is originally from Pennsylvania, and received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She then completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Connecticut, followed by completing her dermatology residency at the University of Buffalo. She is board certified in dermatology and has been in private practice for 24 years. Her interests in dermatology include general and cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Luchetti’s outside interests include travel, physical fitness and collecting art.

Natalie is an Albuquerque native who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry at the University of New Mexico and continued on with her training at the NCCPA accredited University of New Mexico School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2016 and started working in the field of Dermatology shortly after. Natalie is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Her interests include the gym, outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.   

Osman C Dokmeci, MD

Dr. Dokmeci received his MD at Ankara University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University Waterbury Program in CT followed by Allergy and Immunology fellowship at Louisiana State University, LA between 2009 and 2011. Following his fellowship, Dr. Dokmeci started working at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC as an academician. He is a member of AAAAI primary immunodeficiency committee and he participates in policy making decisions in the academy that are related to immunodeficiency diseases. His interests in Dermatology include urticarial (hives), angioedema and atopic dermatitis (eczema). His personal interests include fitness, music and classic cars. He spends his personal time with his family and enjoys traveling with them.

Paul Espy, M.D. Paul Espy, M.D.

A native of Jackson, Alabama, Dr. Paul D. Espy is a chemical engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, of which he was inducted into the College of Engineering Hall of Fame. He attended Tulane Medical School, interned at the University of Utah, served in the US Public Health Service on the Navajo Indian reservation, and completed his dermatology residency training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Espy was certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1976.  He is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, Georgia Society of Dermatologists, Atlanta Dermatology Association and the Medical Association of Georgia. He and his wife, Suellen, have three children and live in Marietta.

Tara Brennan

Dr. Brennan is an Assistant Professor of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery here at the University of New Mexico. She is originally from Chicago and completed her M.D. and Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary. She then completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in New York City at Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospitals, where she focused on cosmetic facial surgery, reconstructive rhinoplasty, head and neck cancer reconstruction, reanimation of the paralyzed face, and vascular tumor and malformation surgery for kids and adults.

Dr. Holguin received her MD at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1984. She completed her internship in Internal medicine at the Medical Center and Veteran’s Administration Hospital at the University of Kansas College of Health Sciences School of Medicine in Kansas City. She then completed her Dermatology residency in 1989 at UNM and stayed on as faculty as Assistant Professor in 1990. Dr. Holguin completed a fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery in 1992 and Mohs Surgery in 1993 and attained an American Board of Cosmetic Surgery Certification in Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery in 1996. She returned to UNM part-time in 2016 and has recently re-joined as full time faculty and Medical Director as of Spring 2017.
