General Dermatology

The dermatology clinic offers a variety of general dermatology services, including complete skin exams for evaluation of: abnormal moles or skin cancer, treatment for eczema, psoriasis, warts, acne and rosacea, rashes, or any condition affecting the skin, hair or nails.

Skin Cancers

Treatment for actinic keratoses (pre-skin cancers), melanoma, squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas as well as counseling for sun protection and skin cancer prevention.

Dermatologic Surgery

Treatment of skin cancer and other skin conditions including excisional surgery and electrodesiccation and curettage.

Mohs Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology

Surgical removal of complicated skin cancers with a high cure rate. Dr. Phillip Strange and  Dr. R.Steven Padilla are both certified mohs surgeons in the Department of Dermatology and perform procedures at the UNM Cancer Center as well as the University Hospital Dermatology Clinic. Services include Botox, chemical peels (for discoloration and aging skin), scar and keloid treatment, elective mole and cyst removal, leg vein treatment, skin tag removals. Click here for more information.

Pediatric/Adolescent Dermatology

Evaluation and treatment of acne and eczema, warts removal, hemangiomas (blood vessel birthmarks) and vascular malformations, vitiligo, rashes, or any condition affecting the skin, hair or nails in children and teenagers. Click here for information concerning pediatric services.
