What can I expect from treatment with the GentleYAG laser?

The treatment is somewhat uncomfortable; some people benefit from using prescription numbing cream applied 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to the procedure. There is usually mild redness and irritation after treatment with our GentleYAG laser. Patients can expect to use a cool compress or chilled aloe vera gel to soothe irritation caused by the treatment. In addition, SPF 30 or higher sunblock should be used on the area prior to your next treatment. Topical agents can be used on the area when irritation resolves. No other restrictions are necessary.
