2000 - The Department of Dermatology moved into its own building, purchased by the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, at 1021 Medical Arts Ave. NE .

2006 - Phase I of the expansion project was completed in August 2006. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and Alumni Extravaganza party at LodeStar was held on August 25, 2006.
